Here are the pretty looking flowers of the keruing (taken in Mar 2005) featured in Francis and the Dipteropcarp. They spot the brown leaf litter pleasantly with pink and white petals. Celebrate masting, it happens once in a few years.

  3. Bees, flies, butterflies and thrips are thought to pollinate the Dipterocarps. Have not come across studies on D. grandiflorus though.

    I saw these flowers at Bt Timah some months back. They were all along the pavement! Never know that it happens once every few yrs only… thks for the entry!
